43 unfinished estates exempt from charge

Forty three estates in Tipperary are exempt from paying the recently introduced household charge because they are unfinished, according to Clonmel solicitors Lynch and Partners.

the loss of a vital transport service from Mullinahone to Clonmel was raised recently in the Seanad by Carrick-on-Suir Senator Denis Landy, who is calling on Government to intervene in preventing the loss to rural areas of essential services. The private bus service, which catered for many people who otherwise, had no other means of transport to Clonmel, had to cease operation because it proved uneconomical for the service providers.

Clonmel home had four times acceptable radon

the Radiological Protection Institute of Ireland is once again warning people of the potential radon risk posed in their homes after one house in Clonmel recorded a radon reading that was four times the acceptable norm and recent tests found that more than ten per cent - over 50 homes - in South Tipperary were found to have high levels of the cancer-causing radon gas.

Clancy festival art benefit party

local artists from Carrick-on-Suir and surrounding areas are uniting for a special 2012 5X7 Art Benefit Party, in aid of the annual Clancy Brothers Festival. The idea behind the art initiative is for artists to create a unique and original work of art under that theme of love. On Friday February 10, Brewery Lane Theatre in Carrick on Suir, will become a hive of creativity with all proceeds going in aid of the 2012 Clancy Brothers Festival and the Art Trail programme.

Bulmers to feature on ‘Home Chef’

Clonmel Cider giant Bulmers is to feature in tonight’s episode of top chef Neven Maguire’s RTE TV show ‘Home Chef’ (Thursday February 2, 8.30pm).

Clonmel’s annual St. Patrick’s Day parade is undergoing a transformation this year with the inclusion of ten huge floats to heighten the spectacle and create a more carnival-like atmosphere and with increased community involvement, this year’s parade is set to be the best one yet.

Relief as toilet facilities finally on the way at bus station

a Clonmel businessman has taken over the operation of the retail unit in the Clonmel bus station so not only will commuters be able to enjoy and coffee and a sandwich while they wait for their bus, or after they have travelled for many hours to reach home, they will also be able to avail of much needed toilet facilities.
